Dealing with Water Damage

A pipe bursts. The sprinkler system drenched the office. A sewer backup left water everywhere. Yikes! Time to get to work to restore your facility not just now but for many days ahead.

More than 40 members and guests received some sage advice in not only understanding the effects of water damage but also the proper techniques for effectively recovering from any short- and long-term issues. During the program held on Wednesday, July 19, experts provided insights on Water Damage: Mitigating the Loss to Avoid the “M” Word.

Robert Winton with Woodard and Greg Chambliss with PSI outlined the categories of water damage – clean, gray, black – and the necessary steps to extract the water. Most importantly, Winton and Chambliss looked at the steps necessary to assess and remediate any problems with mold and environmental issues.

While we hope you never have to deal with such problems, many thanks to Winton and Chambliss for giving the necessary information to handle such a disaster. We also give a big thank you to Woodard for its hospitality in hosting the program.
