IFMA Golf Classic Worth The Wait

Good things come to those who wait. That tried-and-true saying sums up the spectacular day at the Annual IFMA Golf Classic on Tuesday, June 5, at Tapawingo National Golf Club.

A sell-out crowd waited after the tournament was washed out by rain on May 3, the second year in a row that the classic needed to be rescheduled thanks to Mother Nature’s unpredictability.  And it was worth the wait as the skies turned blue and the thermometer ranged from a cool 61 degrees and a comfortable 88 degrees. Perfect weather for golf, not to mention a day of networking and friendship.

IFMA’s faithful supporters did not miss out on the fun. The field was full with 214 golfers, along with several volunteers who pitched in to make it another successful classic.  No one walked away hungry or thirsty, starting with box lunches provided by Elite Cuisine. Tents along the course provided other fare to keep the crowd both full and festive. The barbecue dinner capped off the day during the networking and awards ceremony.

Many thanks to all who returned to play, as well as our volunteers. Special thanks to the hard work and perseverance of our golf chairs: Andrew Dillard, Golf Classic Chair, Steve Polk, Golf Classic Co-chair, and Matt Huelsman, Sponsorship Chair. Kudos for your efforts and equally so for your committee members.

We also certainly couldn’t have done it without the support of our sponsors. More than 60 companies participated as generous benefactors of this year’s golf classic.
