IFMA and ASIS International joined together to host a meeting as ISC Gallery on April 18. Jeff Lea, Public Relations Director from St. Louis International Airport gave a presentation documenting the recovery process from the Good Friday tornado in 2011. It was amazing to hear the stories of recovery and to learn that St. Louis pulled together to open the airport in just five short days. It is truly a story of a community working together to offset a devastating event. ServePro was the event sponsor and provided CD’s for assisting business in planning for disaster recovery. The ISC Gallery also provided their venue complimentary to the group. IFMA and ASIS international members have a lot in common, and the networking was a success for all in attendance.

Richard Janis, William Tao is Honored

Rich Janis was honored with an Alumni Achievement Award from Washington University in St. Louis’ School of Engineering & Applied Science on April 19, 2012.

Mr. Janis earned master’s degrees in architecture and mechanical engineering in 1974 and he has taught continually at Washington University since 1976. One of his greatest accomplishments is coauthoring a book, Mechanical and Electrical Systems in Buildings, with Bill Tao, soon to be in its fifth edition.

Holiday Party Highlights!

On Thursday evening, December 1, chapter members and guests began the holiday season by enjoying a holiday party at The Willows at Brooking Park. Frank Merrins and his team transformed The Willows into a winter wonderland!

Tiffany Wild coordinated this outstanding event! Guests enjoyed delicious appetizers and beverages, music by the Vince Martin band, while catching up with their IFMA friends.

On behalf of the St. Louis Chapter of IFMA, we thank everyone that donated to Emmaus Homes. Your thoughtfulness and generosity is truly appreciated.

New and Seasoned Members Enjoy November Social

The Membership Engagement Committee hosted their 2nd Annual New Member Social at CJ Muggs on November 17. Over 60 members and friends attended. In a more intimate atmosphere, attendees were able to meet members of the board, committee chairs, and learn more about membership benefits and how to get involved in the chapter.
