Manager, Facility Operations

This position manages the Plant Engineering area including plant operations, facility renovations, maintenance, building systems, carpentry, painting, electrical, etc.

  • Accountable for maintaining a regulatory compliant department.
  • Ensure effective communication with customers to identify their needs, ensure their satisfaction, and provide documentation of service delivery performance
  • Establish a clear department vision that is aligned with the SLCH and hospital visions develop strategies, and mobilize the department to achieve it.
  • Ensure effective delivery of a Superior Patient Experience through training, coaching and measured performance.
  • Accountable for overseeing the completion in-house construction projects
  • Actively engages with Plant Operations staff to ensure healthy communications and a high level of employee satisfaction
  • Actively researches and evaluates benchmarks and best practices to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop clear, stretch objectives for the management team that are aligned with the hospital’s objectives and implement processes to monitor progress and ensure their accomplishment.
  • Ensure effective use of time management and empowerment practices to help balance the priorities of the management team.
  • Interface effectively with BJC Planning, Design & Construction.
  • Participate actively on relevant teams, projects, and committees
  • Practice teamwork and collaboration and share professional knowledge

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5 or more years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • 5 or more years management experience
  • Fluent in review of construction documents and drawings
  • Understands and prepares financial reports and budgets
  • Familiar with the regulatory requirements of The Joint Commission, Department of Health and The Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services
