Chapter Toasts New Members

“There is a communion of more than our bodies when bread is broken and wine drunk,” noted M.F.K. Fisher, a celebrated American food writer. That was certainly on display at the New Member Social held on Oct. 18 at the EdgeWild Restaurant & Winery in Chesterfield.

Some 50 members gathered for the informal networking event, including 16 new members. Jennifer Johnston, our chapter president, welcomed the new members. Those newcomers then introduced themselves, providing some background on their work and their reasons for joining IFMA.

Besides enjoying some great food and a glass of wine or two, it provided an opportunity to network and to help new members understand the benefits of joining IFMA. Plus, committee chairs and the executive board encouraged new members to get involved in the chapter’s many activities.

The evening was capped off as a new member received a $50 Amazon gift card. Jennifer Bonzani with SOLitude Lake Management was the lucky winner.

Yes, indeed, a great way to break bread, drink some wine and welcome new members to our chapter.
